Out yesterday in deep water beautiful day. Noticed a rare few hugging bottom. No suspended fish at all. Surface was 69F and at depth I was getting 66F which seemed way too warm….anyone else reading that warm in deep water?
Don’t know the bay well enough to feel that reading is correct. Many boats out there but do not believe anyone was having success.

We were out Friday night and finding similar. Surface 63.5 and same to 60'. Was thinking that our brand new Fishhawk may have some issues. Good to know we were not alone in temperature readings.

Got into a few yesterday down 80 in 100 feet but yes all marks were on bottom and looked to have bait balls down on bottom as well water was warm

My fishhawkII is new also and thought it was not functioning either, appears to be ok. Going to try again next few mornings… will get closer to the bottom….maybe even jig on their nose! Thanks for your reply’s.

Baits on bottom 80-110 that's where the fish are.

Stagers, bows and 2 year olds. Seen many caught past week, all hugging bottom near bait. Insane amount of bait out there right now, suspended too and you'll find smaller bows and shakers up high. Downsize all baits to a standard size right now no matter what part of the column you are targeting. Juvenile smelt are what we are seeing for the most part. Mag size at first light with glow then switch to standard sizes around 8am. Hope this helps
