I am looking for some previous good experience On ice fishing.
I’ve been calling around some The hotspot ice fishing locations like Nipissing and Temagami. Most of them are charging about $200 a night and I’m planning to go mid week by myself and it’s starting to add up. $1000... I am looking for some recommendations on how to reduce the cost.

Just an idea see if there might be a place near where you want to fish that has bed and breakfast might be cheaper plus hot coffee in the morning is convenient. Good luck

Motel or, good heater, cot and a pop up.. insulated pop up would be best bet plus some foam tiles for the floor. Could stay out on your own. Gives you more options asides from the large lakes. Can go to smaller ones or follow a portage trail, granted this all depends on your setup.

Thanks for the tips, I’m leaning towards spending the night on the ice in my thermal pop up. Doing this comes with a lot more things to pack and bring in.
Still up in the air as to where to go and what fish to target.
Being on some of the bigger lakes May incounter High winds and white out conditions. And with a lot of snow comes a lot of slush and when you’re by yourself it could become a nightmare.
