Visited my Wild Leek area this morning and was not disappointed.

Now for some WL/Potato/Bacon soup.

I went to my usual area but found they're not quite "plumped up" yet, maybe another two weeks. Took some home and fried them in real butter, mmmmmmm.

Looking good. The only area I know of is about an hr away. I got some a few years ago but they were hard to dig out of the rocky soil. Maybe I wasn't supposed to? I read later that people just cut them off. That would be a more sustainable way, but then I'd miss the bulb.

How do you folks harvest them? Anybody want to PM me with a tip for finding them near Wasaga??

I dig them up but not all to allow reproduction. Sometimes you have to take a small folding combat shovel and a bag when walking in the woods.

Hardwoods and Trilliums, that exactly describes where I get mine.

On a lark took some home one year and planted a few patches in the back yard next to the raspberry patch. Never got a tase for them though. They come up every year.

I’ve always found them in those areas as well. They grow anywhere and are quite easy to find
