Hi all
I was wondering if there's enough snow on the lake for snowmobiles or is it better to go with an ATV ?

Thanks

you'll be just fine with either or.. There's enough snow/slush for lube and cooling but not enough to stop an ATV either.

Based on what I saw yesterday…
#1 -atv with chains
#2 -snowmobile with studs and scratchers

It’s a solid rutted ice land.

And all my holes were 10” black ice 2” white ice in C.B.

managed atv from sunset to the islands without issue but did hit one slush bog when leaving. Was stuck but only briefly. Much prefer the sled so hope going only a couple slow miles next trip won't be an issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVnGvFBnU2k

definitely quad for me.
I tried my sled on Saturday Feb 3 and it was overheating. Turned around and got my quad.

Gonna try the Skandic on the weekend with planned 50k to round trip. Engine will be fine as it has an automotive style backup rad in addition to tunnel heat exchanger.

Will have to monitor the sliders but hopefully studs and scratchers will do the trick. Has typically been fine on glare ice in the past.

Was literally going to post the same question. Lol

We will be out the 14-18th. Torn on atv vs sled.

Hmmmmmm.

what little snow there is on Nipissing, it's hard as a rock. I could barely kick any up to put on my rad.
All slush is frozen hard so quadding is not an issue.

Just take it easy as the frozen sled tracks through the slush have harden and make for some pretty nasty bumps.
