Tell me all about it. How’s the launch? Free parking? Looks like should be salmon nearby? Fairly protected from the main bay. Anyone been out? It’s the closest launch to me that I assume has salmon nearby to target. I know lots of people go Owen sound but I’m looking here. I don’t troll so I’d be jigging. I’m sure there are whitefish around if I look hard enough as well. Lakers are great but I want some delicious salmon.

Nicholas, I know you have small boat and these waters are not good for it. You must be on at least 19footer, IMXO. For salmon you'd better go to the mouth of Nottawasaga in August, casting lures over 20ft of water there. Spring time on first soft water this place not bad for whities, some sisco, too and steelheads. Was not there for a few years, but remember pretty good times

I troll this area religiously all spring, summer and fall.
As of last summer Cedar point did not have a launch even after the changes to the parking and ferry. Im not sure if the website is up to date. maybe something changed since last summer but I wouldnt count on their being a launch. parking now is very congested even with the changes. No idea where they would park truck and trailers.
The area is great for Salmon and Trout but its a far run from any of the closest launches. You can troll and not see another fisherman and be hitting salmon and trout all day long. Unless you are an experienced boater on the Bay i wouldnt make the run from any far away port just to fish the Islands. Lots of guys fish in smaller boats, I did for 10 years on a 16' Lund but i also have been studying the Bay my whole life.

Since the ice is out completely now, where are the Salmon traditionally at this point in time, given the recent ice-out. Deep or shallow, east or western region GB. Getting ready to give it a go in a week or 2.

You need Krawler for that question. He is #1 in my books for that area.

O Sound is one place they seem to gather after ice out
I will be in Owen Sound on April 16, right after I get back from Ireland. Ice is already out there and my charter captain has his boat in....he sent me a picture of it yesterday with about 8 inches of snow on it....lmao
