Jeez Jamie.....my sincere condolences on the passing of your Father. Find peace in your memories of fishing with him. I sometimes go and hide there with a smile on my face thinking of fishing with my dad.

Arnie

Thank you Arnie for the kind words. I sure hope all these replies from you gentlemen have prompted fond memories for all. Each of us will have cherished moments with loved ones, not to be forgotten.

You're welcome Arnie. This is Christmas present on the right. On the left, Christmas long past. I think this is probably the first winter out fishing on the ice for me, and I would always be wearing a lifejacket. Never too early to practice safety in the great outdoors. It's time for everybody to dust off your old photo albums. Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year.

Thank you Dale, that so nice. Keep up the hunting for the monster crappie. I anticipate some good pictures from you in the ice fishing derby.

I am very sorry for your loss Jamie.
Unlikely it will ease your sorrow, but I had to say goodbye to my dad 30 years ago. I was 21. I wish we could have more time together...

Condolences for your loss CM. Like so many, my father was also my inspiration for the love of fishing. It's been 33 yrs now since he left us and I still smile thinking about our times fishing.

Oh my, that is way too young. It must have been very difficult for you and your family. A loved one passing is always sad. Thank you for sharing that with us. Take care my friend.

Thank you very much. It's great that your memories and smiles will last. And memories are passed on to others everytime we share our stories.

Oh man. That's very sad but also very happy at the same time...the great memories that you have with your dad that is. It's very hard to lose someone that gave you things that you will carry with you forever. With these things, your loved ones are never truly gone from your life and will always be there but just in a different kind of way.
