Hello, Want to get into Rod Building as a hobby. Haven't done one yet. Was looking online and can't see any in person/hands on courses in southern ontario. A few couses in Michigan and North Carolina. I see there were courses previously offered in Guelph. Appreciate any input or thoughts.

Check the OUTDOORS FORUM section. Look for a post from David Parker dated Dec. 21, 2024.Send him an email. He may be able to help you.

I started building ice fishing rods a few years ago because I could never find the right one (handle, grip, guides, etc) in the stores. If you think you're going to save money doing it that's not the case but it is definitely very cool to catch a fish on the rod you built (and even cooler if its on the lure you made as well)

Check out Mudhole.com. Tonnes of helpful videos on the site and they sell stuff as well.

also, youtube is your friend as always

hope that helps
