Depends on what you want to catch....

My personal bet would be Sturgeon, but I know the lake well.

I’ve been mostly fishing for smallies lately, looking for something bigger.

Pickerel, Pike or Musky.

Oh and numbers too?

Pike will always chew during a cold front, so Balsam would be my choice.

You will likely also find some walleye and musky if you're throwing jerk or crankbaits.

If you are fishing tomorrow you can stay out of the main wind on Balsam from gull river out to the islands, where I fish. Gull river has it all. Muskie, walleye, pike, and big bass. I think you like the south bay if memory serves. The waves should not be too bad if you stay closer to the west shoreline of the bay. Maybe the west bay as well for a change of pace. Never ever been in there myself so no knowledge of that area. A bit of west wind Tuesday, then an opposite south wind on Wednesday. Where ever you go good luck. A whole week of fishing, your luck has already begun. Stay safe.

Sturgeon is my favorite for numbers of Muskies . I like Balsam for size and the Tigers are getting big . Good luck

Woodfarmer this wind has been tough and the cold fronts that keep rolling in. I fished Balsam Saturday morning but from Sunday on the lake was very rough so didn’t bother. One nice smallie and a few perch. I will be fishing Wednesday evening and Thursday on Balsam then heading to Baptiste till Sunday. Looks like another cold front and rain Saturday. Good luck out there.

Wife wanted to go Seadooing today so we hit Sturgeon. Down at the swamp end there was a stump about a foot out of the water and then a rock looked like about 2’.
North of Goose Island.
I can’t believe that they’re not marked!

Saw a few boats scattered on the lake bouncing around.

Balsam got skunked. Windy and only saw some small bass attacking my Muskie lure.

Weekend was garbage weather didn’t even hit the water.

Maybe north end of Pigeon next weekend.
