Haven’t been out for pike yet. Weird year with the way early ice out/limited ice. April was kind of cold though. My personal and baseless conjecture is that they shouldn’t be far from the shallows.

Fished the derby out of Waubashene with my daughter on Saturday May 11.Can confirm pike are still shallow as we fished in 6-13 fow, landing 31 pike!
Others at derby were fishing in similar conditions and were also managing double digit numbers.
If your having difficulties catching pike, maybe it's time to change your tactics?

Ya. Might have to, fished shallow and deep. I was out around Waubashene channel all those places. Not sure where to try next. I must say I’m catching the small ones, but where are the big girls. I cast, troll. All types of lures etc
Back bays, etc etc. guess got to move to different locations
Thanks

Fished the Wauba area this weekend and hit 40 plus pike in 4hrs plus a few bass.....but nothing over 8lbs...mostly 3-4 lbs if that....fought great though for small fish.....stomachs empty?
5 to 10 ft shallow with minimal weed growth in the bay.

Hey gents, at least some of the big pike are still shallow in some of the same locations they usually use at this time of year. Water temperatures were pretty typical for this time of year. Good luck,

they're up shallow about an hour north of Barrie last weekend. I would imagine they're full on in Parry Sound by now. No topwater action, but inline spinners, glide baits and spinnerbaits were working well.
