So got up here Tuesday and fished again Wednesday night. Four of us at my friends place, then one left at dark. Another left just after dark. Two of us until after midnight, then just myself until sunrise. Cold, foggy, damp and slippy with very tough fishing for at least 6 hours. A few fish here and there but did not get crazy until around 2am. The new guy caught a beautiful, but too small walleye a bass and a big crappie. This is the rainbow we saw around 6pm, thought it would be good luck. LOL.

An absolutely beautiful walleye. Not my hand or catch but really love the colours. The colours on the fins really stand out. It was way too small, so back in the lake to grow.

Huge fat crappie on my silver, faded, beat up crank bait. I released this one to make more babies next spring.

Same fish but I think this one shows the size of it better. In the bucket to recover, then back in the lake. Usually I keep most of my big crappie, but the last couple years have released more than usual.

More walleye showed up after 2am and kept this one to go with the crappie for dinner. Not tonight though, tonight is Thanksgiving dinner. We had to do it early because it's a big family with multiple dinners on different days. Happy Thanksgiving to all and good luck out on the water. Stay safe.

Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. Just finished the dishes. Now I am out the door to catch a big fish.

If you are out there, you are probably seeing the auroras out there now. They are really bright up here in Muskoka...lots of reds this time...great show!

Yes, thank you. The light show went on all night. Just beautiful to see all those colour changes, and the movement was amazing. When it was red and orange it looked similar to a fire in a wood stove, or fireplace. Just got back and you can still see it. It was two degrees at the water, and zero degrees up at the house. Going to sleep now, cold and exhausted. Have a great Thanksgiving weekend.

Yes it was amazing and a bit distracting. You could see the reflection of the northern lights on the lake. Reeling in the bobber, it looked like it was hovering above the water. Have a good Thanksgiving Jay.
