Here I am by our boat in the Thousand Islands when it was new in 2008. It could handle Simcoe but we haven't fish it too much. Mainly the Thousand Islands, Sturgeon Lake and lower Niagara. I'm glad we upgraded from what we were originally going to get and have been happy with it ever since. 17.6 ft Legend with 90 hp 4-stroke. It is used almost every weekend from April to mid November.
And is that Bayliner behind yours??
Not sure, could have been. I didn't know about this forum then if it even existed back in 2008.

Ssaaacckk, some real good advice in previous replies to this post. HP rating is paramount. A lot of dealers will sell you a very affordable package that clearly will not perform to your expectations. Then you'll be repowering and spending big bux!
+1 on the deep hull for Simcoe as others have stated.
The Toronto boat show is nearly here. If you want a new boat, that is the place to buy. They offer killer deals there, especially on 2012 stock.
Do your research and best of luck with your purchase. I may be selling mine if you're interested.
