Well I think it is a no brainer. Why put a life jacket hidden away in your boat if you don"t intend to use it. I wear my PFD before I get in the boat and take it off after I get out. If I have a boating accident and am unconscious and in the water.....I will float.....will you. I spend 4 days a week on the water. Every year there are so many that drown and the wearing of a PFD would more than likely have saved them. Yes I do believe that PFD's should be mandated as must be worn on all watercraft. I am on everything from a kayak to a cruiser and wear my PFD on all. Not to be condescending but sometimes the government has to protect you from yourself, just like safety legislation at your workplace....it saves lives.
