Well after lots of practice "drilling ice", I decided I needed to catch a fish. Lol So I got up early and hit the Lower Niagara River. Beautiful morning. Ended up going 2 for 3. Here's some pics. And a female. BBQ tonight! Cheers!

Hey Mark, some nice fish. I was just at Sail trying to buy some waders but surprise they don't have anything my size in stock. I tried on a few Simms and am likely going to order on line now that I know what size in need. I am itching to get back into float and fly fishing. Your making me jealous.

The visibility wasn't bad, I've seen it better. Probably a couple feet? From the shore line I could see out about 5'-6'. I'll be back out for sure. Cheers!

Welcome to the board iront69. Lots of good people and info here but you do need to ask your questions in a more timely fashion. Most of us were asleep in the time between your question and you leaving. When you get back, start a new topic, give us a report on what you tried and how you did, I'm sure someone will chime in with comments.

Haha.. Yes, that was a late post..
But, bottom bouncing is the way to go with large pencil weights (3/4 to 1 oz). Braided line and fluoro leader. Hang the weight on a three way swivel with 20lb+ line and be prepared for some snags. For bait use roe or streamer flies.
