Fun times

Was last out a week and a half ago and commented then that i have never seen so many cracks and ridges on Nip. We did over 100 km on the ice that weekend and lost count of the number of ridges and cracks that we crossed.

Heading out again Saturday and Sunday with another 100+ km planned but have a backup lower mileage plan if needed.

And FWIW no way in hell i would drive my truck on the lake this year. Just way too variable. My bait guy (who i trust and who knows the operators very well) told me one of the Operators was finding places with 2 to 3 inches on parts of Fish Bay off trail just 2 weeks ago and we have not really made any ice since then.

Trying to post pics but my phone hates this site.

Was on the west end on the weekend. Holes all over it.

Its amazing how many cracks you'll see when there's no snow to hide them but yes the mild weather is opening up a few. There's a few gaps and humps on the North shore now.
Nothing i haven't seen before.
mind you this is by far the thinnest ice i've every seen for this time of year.

seems the truck removal started today at Sunset Park on the NB shoreline. The pressure crack on the Lavase side was very wet and complex but not high. Gave the stud machine da gas and didn't look back as I was heading in. It looked worse than it was 5 hrs earlier in the day. Be careful with your choice of crossing.
