Packed away. There is a piece of foam between the battery and face of the FF to protect the screen from scratches. The transducer fits in beside the battery for transporting.

This is my spare sonar. Took it out of the lowrance ice bundle and put in waterproof case from princess auto.

Fish Guru, That looks like a great durable travel case. How did you mount the battery and sonar inside? Pics are ok. I plan to do the same. Tried to pm but it wouldn't work. Thanks

For anyone interested, Princess Auto has some nice waterproof cases on sale for $40. Looked plenty big to manage up to a helix 10.

I’ve already got mine rigged, so I had to pass, but they looked solid.

Yes for 39.99 that is where I got mine and easily fits my Helix ten......batteries and mount.

Last year I made my own underwater camera and I had to carry it in a small cooler.
I made something better to keep the camera and fish finder all in one case.

Princessauto had a sale in Surplus dept on storage crate and I grabbed 2.
What I like about this storage crate it’s stackable and I can also use it on the boat.

It also fits both perfectly on the pelican 60 sled.

1 for the buddy heater and 1 for the fish finder and camera.

Tablet and fishfinder on the mount.

Princess Auto is my go to place for that kind of stuff and usually at a really reasonable price

Frank

A Helix 7 draws about .800 amps per hour so divide that into the Ah # on your battery and that should theoretically tell you how long it will last.......I will be field testing a small jacket battery within the next two days as well as a 8300mah battery pack on my Helix 10 and it draws 1.2 amps so theoretically you draw 2/3 of what I draw.....so if my battery pack lasts 2 hrs it will last 3 for you.

Going fishing for a couple of days,,,,,,starting at Tudhope and after that not sure yet........but somewhere.
