Just back for a camping trip we look foreward to every year for about the past 20 years or so. Finding a site proved difficult this year as many of our favorites were taken so we traveled the lake in the very strong winds and some rain till we found a site that wasnt taken. Proved to be a blessing in disguise as it sheltered us from most of the wind. Cooler temperatures and sunny for the rest of the days made it very pleasant. Fishing was decent we managed about 30 lakers all very small except for 3 that were a good size, two of which we kept for dinner one night. Also missed a tank!@#@# came unpinned about half way to the boat. All in all ranks as one of the best trips we have had.

Awesome pics and story. I have only travelled through it and never fished it. May have to rethink that.

Love Algonquin, but have not been there in a long while. Beautiful sunset, you have a great tradition returning year after year.

Nice work Dan, I don’t recognize that campsite but looks like a good spot for pulling the boats up. You guys did pretty well on the 30 fish, they’ll grow up one day. I’m hoping to be up there in a few weeks

Just don’t camp on the bear island.
