I suggest with the kids an outfitter on cooks bay. Nice warm hut, transportation, minnows and it’s safe. Also usually pretty good perch with the odd pike , herring or whitie in the mix. Did it with my son and his papa one day last year at minus 35 and we had a blast.

Simcoe is definitely the way to go with kids. Tons of ice hut operators to keep your kids busy! Hope you have a great time.
