I sure hope someone sees this post and relays the message to who ever may have found them. There are lots of honest people out there, hopefully you can get your gear back.

Sorry to hear your loss Micheal, give the road maintenance guys a call if you can track them down they are always picking up life jackets, bait buckets, jerry cans etc. etc off the roads. Good luck I hope you get them back.

Oh wow!

Would your insurance possibly cover that?

I put the rod bag in my partner's boat in Mississauga; they were missing when we arrived at the launch. The tie down strap was broken (and, of course, that was the one and only time that I didn't have a second back-up attachment securing the rod bag).

The rods aren't covered by my home insurance policy since I didn't lose them at home --- duhhh!

Nope. My home insurance policy covers losses at home.

Allstate covered a claim under my home Insurance policy recently and I was nowhere near my home. I dropped a load of stuff in Lake O (dont ask) and with receipts and photos they paid me out
Good Luck

Michael

Don't assume you are not covered by your home owners policy.

If you are transporting something from your home where it would be covered to another location, I think you would be covered.

Read your policy carefully and contact your Ins. Co. on the premise you are covered and then let them deny it.

I had a debate this year with T/D Ins. over my boat insurance and I won the argument after appealing to their complaint Dept. after Customer Service told me I didn't have coverage.

Or possibly Auto Insurance? Your home insurance would most likely have a $1000 deductible, where auto is potentially around $500 or less. (There's also some cons about making a claim against your home insurance - discuss with your broker).
