My 2018 Softwater fishing season in pics, The year of the pike

I do not post often here but having finished my boating season recently I decided to create a slideshow from the pics of the fishing trips and catches that my friends and I have enjoyed this softwater season.

This year I have concentrated mainly on fishing for pike and all other species caught were, for the most part, incidental when targeting pike, although I did went out a few times for musky and fall salmon fishing.

All in all it was not a bad year and I was able to catch 103 pikes (I maintain a trip logbook) and numerous bass, as well as a couple dozen walleyes and other fish (most of it was released)

The fishing was done not only in Kawarthas but around Southern and Central Ontario as well.

In the slideshow you can also see some of the lures I was using, which were mostly jerkbaits and crankbaits as I am a huge fan of fishing those lures.

This bass was not weighted or measured as it was caught in May during the pike tourny on Balsam lake, but I would guess it was not more than 3.5-4 lb
