It's a good watch, I went to the screening for it back in May. Some very unique footage captured by the camera they used. Important to spread awareness of the dangers of invasive aquatic species.

Thanks for posting this. I didn't know about this doc but know how big this problem is/was. Some good news in how things maybe changing back to a more original system. In Simcoe, it's also looking like some kind of new balance has or is still being reached with some species now eating those invasive species. Hopefully, an acceptable balance will be reached. It seems like it is always worse during the start of the invasions before things can adapt (if they survive). Anyway, some really good footage in those docs. Is it strange that seeing all those WF is making be hungry for some

Very good doc, watched all three episodes. Have read about some of the effects of the invasive species and the 'cleaning of the great lakes' but learned more watching it. Well done. A must see.. Excellent footage.

Thank you Drew for posting this up on the board. This is a great way to present and bring attention to a serious problem that has been around for decades. There are dozens and dozens of articles going back decades that can be read on this issue. As well as the many other species that are at risk. And not just at risk, extinct, gone forever. The root cause of the decline in almost all species of fish in Canada is overfishing. Then environmental affects from pollution, logging, dams, population development, etc. So before we came to Canada and started the problems, this is what would happen to an invasive species. If there is an abundant, healthy fish population in a lake, an invasive species would be eradicated before it becomes a problem. The proof is in the timeline of our planet. Nature can take care of itself, if we leave it alone. But we just can't do that can we. Nothing can stop us from developing, and growing and taking everything from Mother Nature but give her nothing back. We are the problem and always have been. Humans throughout history have eventually destroyed so many things we have put our hands on. Too many to list, so I will stick to the decline in fish. Some people don't fish for logical reasons, they fish for emotional reasons. It's enjoyable to get out there and catch a fish. Fishing can be relaxing and also exhilarating or frustrating, either way it triggers emotions. We as anglers get excited when we catch a fish. There are millions of pictures of fish in photo albums going back to the invention of the camera. Why is it that the host of a fishing show hoots and hollers when he catches a fish. It's just a fish, that's all. There are many emotions in fishing, greed is one of them. When is enough, enough. Some people catch and keep way too many fish. Some people even break the law and exceed the limits that are stated in the regulations. Big business fishing was and is all about greed. The fishing industry has destroyed many species, and just keeps going and going. From time to time we read an article, or see a documentary and stop to think for a moment or two. Does the fishing industry stop, or slow down? Maybe once or twice, but not really. If they run out of a certain species, they will just move on to the next one. This was the most beautiful country in the world before we came here and messed it up. I remember having only to open the front door as a child to see the beauty of nature. Only sixty years have passed since my birth. It's still a beautiful country, but now you have to drive for hours to find the peace and tranquility that Mother Nature offers. Protect the fish and protect Mother Nature. Conservation by one and by all is the only way to a sustainable future fishery. Let some fish go and lobby for future stocking and the protection of existing fish stocks.
