Headed up to the cottage on the Ottawa river near Pembroke on the weekend. Tested the ice and got 3-4" of black and 7-8" of white so decided to drop some lines. Yes, the open water is close but even in the dead of winter and 16" of black ice that open water is there. It's the current. No luck but good to get out in the beautiful weather.
