Went down to the lake around 6pm last night. Bluegill, small bass and a few rock bass before dark. After dark somehow a birds nest on my reel. Too dark to play with that, so cut the line. There was just enough line left on the reel, to do short casts with the slip bobber and jig. A few small walleye and crappie. The coyote were very loud and active most of the evening. Fishing was nice a relaxing with not much to report. Just average fish sizes last night, and all released to get bigger. Perfect night for weather, a slight breeze and went down to 3 degrees.

I was out on Balsam yesterday morning early up until lunch time and the fishing was absolutely on fire for me.
That is to say I managed to catch 3 small Bass and a dinky Walleye. Most exciting part was 2 of those Bass came from under the same dock so it feels more like an accomplishment than just dumb luck. Most of my trips the only fish I see is that Bluegill that likes to swim around my trailer at the ramp.
Water temp has dropped quite a bit. It was 70+ 10 days ago and it was 59 when I launched.

Looking good, cold front just moved through, she’s awful cold right now. Finally felling like October.
Thank you mykola, it was cold the last two nights. What's a cold front. LOL. Love October, November and December fishing. Good luck on your walleye fishing soon.

Nice work Jamie.....wear your woolies in Acton we had our first frost this morning.
Arnie
Thank you Arnie, just loved all those pictures of you and your friends out catching all those fish. We had frost as well, today and yesterday. It was brutal the last two nights, going down to 3 degrees. Thick, moist, heavy, cold air is a nightmare to fish in.

Earlier you posted about your 1st Balsam walleye. Next time you get out on the water. Try casting all around that hump where you were trolling. Try some crankbaits that will swim at that depth. Good luck next time you are on Balsam.

Glad you were able to get out, you’re gonna have everyone on here night fishing haha
Thanks Jay. Two nights down, one to go. Actually had my friends friend with me last night for a few hours. He was not prepared, just my opinion. From slipping on the rocks to not knowing how to get a fish in with no light. Fishing at night can be slippy in a boat or from shore. Condensation and frost can hurt you. But he will learn, the easy way or the hard way. And he did catch a walleye and a bass and a crappie, so he was very happy.
