Will wait to add eyes until after the troll test! Had a blast making this batch, but I must admit... it’s a challenge to do!
For the love of... FISHING!
I'm loving the scale pattern on the cream coloured one! Are there any paints in your experience to use/avoid? Ive seen old lures hydro dipped before. have you ever tried that?

Thanks! From what I’ve heard, you’re best off sticking with water based paints, and thank god I did... the one you like, I had to wipe down a messed up paint job. Having the base clear coated really saved my butt!
Even after redoing it, i messed up by leaving the taped on too long. Just like painting your house, peeling the tape damaged the area around the lip. No biggie as I put a bead of seal around the lip and it’s covered... but, just another learning experience. Lol

Had an opportunity to test out the lures this weekend... amazed to report that they all ran well for the most part.
Black With Gold Glitter- ran solid as a shallow runner and had a couple of hits trolling within 15 minutes... sadly fishing slowed down and no more hits afterwards. Ran 5-6mph without flinching.
Stubby Green Crankbait- Dives like a champ and easily hit 20ft deep with minimal line out. Nice erratic movements, and took it over 5mph no problem. Pulls some serious weight, and had my extra heavy rod bent pretty good.
Green Perch/Walleye Crankbait (black stripes) - Incredible movement, and thumps like nothing I’ve ever seen! This bait has some serious moves, and makes my rod tip bump like crazy. 7mph and it was still going strong. Didn’t dare go anymore for fear of breaking my rod holders (was not using my down east setups, but rather my Scotty Orcas).
Chartreuse Scale with Red Accents- This bait needed a bit of tuning as it was running a bit to one side. The eyelet in the front was a bit too tight to adjust on the water, so will have to make the adjustment at home with a vice grip. Still ran excellent, and will do fine after a bit of adjustment. Loved the colour under the water!
Red/White/Yelliowbelly Popper - Worked great and displaced water well. Good buoyancy, and should be a great bait for the summer!
Yellow/Green Frog Glider- Level buoyancy, but needs a bit of weight in the backend to allow it to walk the dog properly. Will be adjusting before my next outing.
In summary, I was thrilled with the way they ran... definitely developed some serious hook rash from trolling them, and will be T’ing my hooks to try and minimize the damage.
Good first round of lures... now just need them to catch some muskies! Hahaha

Glad all went well for you. If I would recommend using Double hooks instead of treble. They don't damage the lures as bad and get a good hook up on fish.

Seeing that I am slightly bored until 2019... Musky is the current target. Have been doodling around in the shop building some baits and figured I’d post some up, because, well... I don’t catch anything Musky Fishing anyway! 😂
Some of the latest creations #1 runs well and have a few more bodies made with lips, same style, just need a bunch of paint, and clear coats.

#2 My first attempt at a real deep diver!
Don’t mind the paint job... she was a prototype and was not fancied up until I knew she ran. Took her down to 40ft with ease, and she runs like a jackhammer! 👍
The neighboring bait is one of a few that are being completed to be fished next weekend.

And the latest... Black Panther
Looking forward to catching some pigs on them before the season is closed! Had a small musky on one last weekend, but nothing worth mentioning. Back at it ASAP! Lol
