Rod holder DIY

So I got tired of having my little green holder flip over in the snow----and maybe a little bored----so I made the one shown up from a scrap of wood and a paint stick. I want to test drive it on Thur

Looks good and light weight... I've been using these for a few years... hold the down with slush from the hole

I used to use something similar to your green one and found I was missing hooksets as I was pulling the rod out of the holder opposed to lifting the holder with the rod in it.

Yup---out yesterday and, as you say, worked like a charm even though I had very few occasions to grab the rod and set the hook! (as a bonus it takes little room in storage)
