This has nothing to do with fishing or hunting, but I know many of you are dog lovers, as are my wife and I, especially Labrador Retrievers.
As you can tell from my Forum name, I'm an old time square dance caller and my wife is an old time fiddle player.
The 3rd Saturday in May is National and World Fiddle Day and the last 2 years we have held an old time fiddle jam/old time dance/square dance to celebrate the day. We do not charge admission for the event, but ask people to make donations for COPE SERVICE DOGS. In the first 2 years we have been successful beyond our wildest dreams as we have raised a total of $5,300. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the people attending.
We are doing the same again this year and plans are well along. There will be 6 Labrador service dogs there and this year we sought out some corporate donors and we have already raised $2,300., without a music note played or a dance step taken.
So, if you are looking for something to do in the afternoon of May 18th, come out for a afternoon of good old time fiddle music and dancing. If you don't dance, come and listen.
Complete details are in the following material, including how to make a donation if you cannot be there but want to support the cause. Donations of $20.00 or more qualify for a tax receipt.
Thanks for taking the time to look at this
