It has been a while since I've fished Lake O, more than 7 years actually. I picked up a new boat this spring and am hoping to get into some salmon action before things get too crazy this summer. I have riggers and lots of tackle and lots of patients. I never was much of a big lake gguy except for the few weeks in June and July I would hammer Lake E for the eyes.

So, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am wondering where I should launch to start my search. Would leaving from Hamilton harbour be a decent start or should I look farther east, say around 16 Mile Creek?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Come on further east down to Port D...launch ther and head east .

2 zones to fish.deep 100-240.......deep set program with copper and mag dipseys .wire

Or stick in tighter..like 60-100 and work that zone ......25----80 down will get you action.

All spoon bite.greens and oranges

surface speed 2.3 -2. 6 dependng on current down below.

I prefer the latter and we had 35 shots today

WOW! That was quick and much more than I expected. Thanks Long shank. The info is greatly appreciated. I'll be heading out Friday afternoon and again Saturday morning. I'll post any pics, good or skunked

Thanks Bay liner. I've been doing lots of searching for a decent forum on Lake O and this one appears to have a good mix of people. I really decked out the new boat > 20ft Legend with 115 Merc, 9.9 kicker and dual riggers< so I could have some toys when the kids are not using it for wake boarding.

Let the fun begin.

Welcome to the board mcsteve & congrats on the new boat.
Glad you found our little hideout on the web...

Longshank has a PHD in big water salmon and trout fishing, and many other diplomas in all things fishing.

I'm sure using his tips and those from our many other helpful board members, you'll get some blood on that new boat soon.

Cheers & Happy Fishing.
Jerry

Looks like it will be Saturday morning only. Forecast is for a west breeze so it should be a great morning.
