Well today was the spring Perch Derby with Bill's Bait & Tackle (858 Upper James Hamilton ON) down at the Bay Front Park. Run time was 8am - 12:30pm. I used a pickerel harness the whole day and every so often I would use my spare rod with a tube jig to get things going again. We fished around the docks and had awesome results. First perch of the day was at 8:15am weighing in at 4.5oz. I hovered around 4.5 - 5.7oz for a good 2 hours. Caught a few silver perch, large mouth, cat fish and even a damn gobey -.- Around 11:45am I hooked a nice jumbo perch, my reel was running pretty good, I was using a 4' 6" ultra light and it felt like a monster. Once i got it in, I just bit the line and ran for the weigh in station. He was no 1st place but he weighed 8.1oz.
All in all we had a blast 1st place 16.7oz 2nd place 10.2oz 3rd place 9.6oz
I ended up getting some tackle at the end with the draw. All in all I had a great day and some good laughs (lets just say it involved me, my harness and the willow tree in-front of us and when we got there the tree branches were over hanging the water and by the time we left it was a nice clear spot to cast

Glad you made it out Brandon. I won that derby and my son won the kids division last year. But couldn't go in it today. See ya around. Cheers!
