Hi,

I know the preferred is indoor storage than outdoor for UV protection.
What I want to know if do hang your kayak or on a sawhorse or flat surface in the garage?

Photo would help me give an idea what I can do in the garage.

Hi,
I picked up a couple of single bike pulleys at the sportsman show a few years back. Attached them to the rafters in the garage. I put old ratchet straps around my kayaks and turn them sideways in the straps prior to hauling them up. I have used this system for about 10 years without an issue for my sit inside and SOT. Also makes it easy to take down and put back up.
No pics sorry but i hope this helps.

Last 4 years this has been my approach.

4 screw eye hooks and two sets of straps on both ends - one wrapped completely around the kayak and one to the handles.

It takes a bit of effort to get up and down without the pulleys, but since I only do it once a year each way - its doable.

xiaolu, is this some kind of system you are using? It seems to be very convenient to use.

Update...

Well.. I had the kayak hoisted in the garage.

Then my wife realized that if I need to take out the kayak, I need to remove the boat out first then the kayak out. last bring the boat back in the garage.

So.. I just rearranged the garage today and made it work.

kayak sitting flat on 2inch foamular insulation board.
