Yearly trip up North of Temiscaming. Tough fishing, Hot, Rain, Cold, Wind, and feeeesh. My boat didn’t do as well as previous years in terms of keeper walleye on board, but I did manage my PB Walleye and a few bass 20”+. Took the walleye on a slip float in 16fow with my leech set at 7ft around 9:45PM. It was the only fish of the night but well worth the wait. My brother and I had been listening to an epic prog album by Steve Wilson called “The raven who would not sing”…. As the album peaked in intensity the drop coincided with the hookset and the fish fight music was like video game boss battle music… and what a fight… circles around the boat, drag peels, could barely lift the fish for a good 10 min. Needed to take my time using 6lb mono. once the fish was landed it had become a perfect moment. My boat only landed around 32 fish. 10 walleye, 12 bass, 5 Pike and 5 lakers. My dad and godfathers boat landed around 130. Massive bait balls everywhere and mayfly larval shells littered on the surface, likely contributed to tougher than normal fishing. Had a fantastic trip as always.

Typical distribution of fish, although even more bait than this image generally…. Usually bait hangs out around 7ft-10ft steady when we’re there, this week they were pushing deeper some bait in 20ft+. These are likely walleye on bottom in this shot. Bass were holding slightly shallower.
