That can change quick.

I remember swatting mosquitoes week before Halloween. 2 weeks later we were getting froze out of deer camp.

Was hunting a swamp earlier in the week. Watched a sheet of ice form around my goose decoys.

It's been getting consistently cool enough at night to bleed off some heat for turnover. Once the entire water column is 4 degrees anything can happen.
