There is nothing like hooking into that lunker bass and bringing him in. The past two weeks fishing has been very good. We had a family up last week and our little guest Jessica (in the pic) was thrilled to be out in the boat catching with her father. It is great to have kids up and be able to take them out to see lots of action on the water, and even fishing from the dock has been very productive!.
We had a group of American visitors this week up from Pennsylvania. Our three guests tallied about 150 bass during their week here, the majority was catch and release. The majority of fish was caught on artificial bait although they did purchase some live bait from the area. We have asked them to send along some of their best pics when they get home.
We have been fishing with some great surface baits, specifically the heddon torpedos are working really well. We are also having success with the small bass busters with a 1/4 oz jig on either white, yellow or pink twister tail. Some of the tiger coloured fat raps are working as well. Also as simple as dragging a weighted 6 inch rubber worm through some of the deeper areas and drop offs and dragging the bottom is also brining them in. Fishing is like real estate...location, location, location....! Enjoy the pics, and call us if you would like to come up for some great bass fishing!

Thanks for the fishing report & great looking fish!

For those interested I added a lake info page for Lake Weslemkoon, it includes fishing tips, lake statistics and a fishing map.

Just mouse over the "Lake Info" button at the top of this page, and click the "Lake Weslemkoon" link. More lakes coming soon!

Wow 150 Bass! Awesome week of fishing.

Yes, torpedos work great on largemouths. Also try the jitterbug, lots of fun on calm evenings.

Nice looking catch of bass. You mentioned other lakes coming soon. I'm on Wollaston Lake and have been hearing of some lake trout coming out but personally haven't had any luck

I lived in Bancroft a ways back now.

Fishing in that whole area is similar to going to the Casino ..you will always win something..

BUT the chance of hitting the jackpot are so much better LOL

I know back then that the Forestry Access area in L'Amable (pronounced LaMab )
Was always a Fantastic way to spend the day Fishing/Exploring. You just never knew what lake was producing and there wasn't too many in there that didn't give up fish.
