Well, we gave it another go. As I said in an earlier post we are not early fishermen. At our ages, we find early rising to be a problem.

I have been told and seen evidence that Meaford is an "early morning" fishery. I was told that about Collingwood, but over all the years we went there (Before non-resident parking went to $50.00), we always caught lots of fish at any time of day.

Yesterday at Meaford we got there at 8:30, just as a number of others were coming off the water and showing us and telling us about their success. They had been out since first light.

We were fishing by 9:00 and within 20 minutes Phil picked up a nice 3lb rainbow on a spoon, down 60ft in 90fow. We thought good start.

That was it for the day. We didn't mark as many fish as last week. We tried all kinds of different lures and we fished from 60fow to 150fow.

Anyways better than staying home and it was a very nice day to be on the water.

Not sure when I will get out again as I have various other commitments and my friend Phil is off to Europe with his wife for 2 weeks.

Jerry (Metalbuckle) and I may get a chance to go out for an "England" vs "Italy" day as we have done in the past.

Picture of the fish and lure.

Very nice chrome rainbow

Well done

Yes if we can coordinate a day that we are both free, it would be fantastic to get out.. it's been way too long

Cheers

It seems a bit odd that Meaford fish have different feeding habits than CW fish. Anyone hazard a guess?

One thing I noticed, the bottom around Meaford is rather featureless.

There is "structure" off Collingwood.
