Thank you Fozzy. I will be out before the season closes, and then just crappie fishing until they head for deeper water. After that, hopefully some pike fishing right up to the ice comes. Some of the best tasting walleye come on the last day of the season. All you need is some cold and a bit of snow in the air, and some slush on the dock, or in the boat.

Well no snow the next three nights, but it's going to be cold with some wind. East wind today and tonight, then a NW wind for Friday and Saturday. Better pile on the clothes and don't forget the life jacket or survival suite if you are going out on the water. Minnows would be a great choice for crappie, walleye and bass around the three inch range, or a bit bigger. The usual places where you have been lucky at this time of year will have fish. One more week until the Kawartha lakes turn over, then the fish are gone to warmer water. If you use lures and plastic like me, it's going to be a very, very slow and boring retrieve. That is until you get lucky and catch a fish for dinner. Don't forget walleye closes at midnight tomorrow night. Respect the fishery, protect the fish. Good luck and stay safe.

I've put the hours in the last 2 Saturdays on my nemesis lake - Nothing to show for it yet.

Lot's of guys out jigging walleye so I imagine they are biting hard. Musky - not so much

Thank you. I am assuming you are fishing 10 to 15 feet of water depth for those muskie. Try 6 to 10 feet on Saturday. The muskie I caught was in 6 to 8 feet of water. And the two my friend caught the week before we're in shallow water. Far as I can tell the muskie are still chasing the perch in shallow water. If I see a boat catch any muskie, will add that to my report tomorrow. Good luck on Saturday. Heading out to fish in 10 minutes, brought extra clothes this time. Cold and windy tonight.
