WE had a chance to get some fishing in on the lower river yesterday as the winds were quite favourable, the weather was all over the map from morning fog to afternoon sunshine...got there around 9 am and called it a day by 3 pm as our bodies were hurting lol......it happens
the bite was really good starting with 2 hits within the first minute of the drift..after some fine tuning we started landing a few, but we lost a high percentage of our hookups all day long, I know not why....perhaps water clarity was a factor as we had quite a number of fish on and just before netting......poof/gone
kept 2 small ones for a dinner and released the rest...as usual, we just forget to take photos, must be the heat of the moment :
It was a great day, peacefull and lots of fish rising and hitting
most productive baits were beads, some corkies and kwickfish... weight size was critical in triggering hits
the numbers of brown trout are the best I have seen in quite some time
