Steelheader Dave and I headed out today in calm winds to a spot we have never fished before. The ride got a little bumpy the further out we went ,but it turned out to be a good call.We went 12/15 today with 3 knock offs and one break off, doubled up 2 times with lakers and one time with a laker and a salmon. The lake trout were all better than 8 pounds with the biggest being 14 pounds. Three salmon in the box between 9 and 11 pounds.Ended up with 6 fish to take home 3 salmon and 3 lakers that couldnt be revived. May have to visit that spot again. Gripper spoons took 2 salmon and a mag moonshine Green hulk took the other. Lakers were caught on a mix of spoons one took a flasher fly another took a meat rig. Busy day but worth the ride.

Lady luck shined once again on Dan and I , that cooler with the 6 we kept weighed by guess in excess of 80 lbs ...we fished over bait clouds that were massive but they were home to hungery lakers..rod goes just hang on till their tired ...on cleaning turned out my lakers were cramed full of immature smelts about 2 in long ..one laker had egg sacs that were almost mature, (something new) we had 3 double headers ..a real chinese fire drill...our final horay was a salmon about 10 that thought he was a rainbow ..spectacular jumps 4 times and fiesty all thru..all in all a banner day ..seems when Dan and I head out the fish gods smile on us ..a good match , we both keep changing till we find the right reciepe ..
A big thanks again to skipper Dan......till next time

Looks like a fantastic day on GBay! She's been producing some fine salmon this year.
I have to admit that at first glance, I thought your pup was a young black bear cub! (Just waiting for it's share! LOL)
Thats Hank a 5 year old bouvier , he likes his picture taken. HE has been sighted in the bush in our neighbourhood on our walks and has been reported as a bear a couple of times LOL and yes given the chance he might enjoy a feed of fish .
