Posting a poll for everyone to share their favourite whitefish lure during the softwater season. Mine are the Luhr Jensen Krocodile Spoon and Williams half-n-half (no side hooks).

The gold williams is my favorite lure for just about everything. I like the half/half too but more in hard water.

Last Saturday, when we were into them big time.... they ignored the half and half and were only interested in a silver Williams. Jordan and I switched lines and he immediately started to hook up while I did all of the netting. 10 to 1 easily.
Friggin fussy fish!!!! Next weekend.... who knows????

When I jigg whitefish in the Spring, I use Bad Boyz/Meegs nearly 100% of the time.
When trolling for Lake Trout, I have caught a fair number of Whitefish as an incidental catch on an NK28 silver/yellow/green hologram and a chartreuse Mepps Syclops. I have found both to be effective Lake Trout trolling lures.

My go to is the Williams 1/2 and 1/2.

lst wek with the dying smelt happening, I used my lighter and darkened off one side of the lure......after that instant hits.

Last year I did a post on WF using this same lure where I got 17 for 19 WF all in the mouth with that lure. Unusual, but it happened.

My favourite whitefish lure is a williams as well, all silver whitefish jigging spoon.. Catches jumbo perch and crappie through the ice as well, sometimes I tip it with a minnow when jigging for crappie, perch and walleye.

Either a Williams 1/2 and 1/2 or a Bad Boyz. I do, however, keep a full arsenal of Williams of different shapes/colours just in case the fish get fussy.

williams 1/2 & 1/2 or silver looks pretty popular, what size of lure though, just curious, no lake trout or whitfish down here so don't fish for them and all my trips to Simcoe are in the winter fishing for perch. Next year we are deticating one trip for Lakers throught the ice, I think a #6 for Lakers but would you use the same size for Whities, I can't see catching perch / crappie on that size of lure.

Simcoe bouncer and a modded Williams for whitefish. For lakers, one bait only, a redheaded chaser.
