Years ago my dad got me a collar for my dog,a traiming collar...i only had to use the shock function twice the whole time i had it(a year or so)i actually took the collar off the dog and just kept the remote in my pocket and if he acted up id just point the remote at him and he would immediately stop!it created a pretty big shock(i tested it on myself, not crazy, but woke me up!!!)i threw the collar out by accident while moving...so i bought 2 from amazom in the next 2 years, they suck...i testedcboth on myself and its a light static shock at full strength...dogs would scoff at them....they wete useless!!!
Does anyone know a good training collar that doesmt deliver a static shock?my dogs barking is out of control and needs to stop.

X2 for sportdog, I have the 450 camo one, I bought for my previous dog in 2017. I used it on Sam 3 times and she never repeats what she was doing, so she doesn't wear one any more. Now a friend has borrowed it to try and correct her dog. I have tried it on myself and you want to have it on its lowest setting for me anyway. Certainly would want to start low then work up. It also has vibrate, which I have trained Sam to come to me on the vibrate, but she never goes out of my sight so again don't use it.

they are actually cheaper now than they were in 2017, still pricey

friend got dogtra pathfinder 2 from US amazon 9mile range, canadian version is capped at 8km
go figure
he was able to see the signal 6.5km away in parry sound area.
so far no complains, said it's much much better than garmin astro 900 that he used before.

We use the Garmin 550 Plus collar with a Garmin Alpha TT25 handheld tracker.
About $700 US but worth every penny.

When we strap the collar on, Huey knows he's going in the bush.
