This pic shows it from the side. The seat will have about 16 inches of travel on three foot rails. Hopefully this will correct and offset the trolling motor weight.

This pic the back brace is complete. Next I will do the front brace and then start to build the undercarriage of the frame and then install it into the kayak.

yeah the trolling motor is a heavy thing for sure. Still looking forward to the finished product. You a day late for Ireland, have always thought it be good to be there for St Paddies.

I'm getting there Sabmgb. I spent another couple of hours on it today.

Bit by bit......Had a couple of hours to work on the kayak again today. I finished the top of the frame assembly and placed it in the kayak, centred it, levelled it and took measurements for the floor braces and for the stress that will attach to the top of the frame. I got all of those parts made and next will assemble them and attach to the floor of the kayak.

In this pic the top rail assembly is completed and placed in the Kayak. Then levelled and centred at the right height so I can take measurements for the floor braces and the struts.

I also got a true measurement today on the length the seat will slide is 16.75 inches. Moving my fat butt back that far should fix my weight balance issues.

In this pic is a front shot to see if I like it at this height and to make sure it is dead centre......now time to take measurements for those struts and floor braces. Then cut the parts.....wish I had a bandsaw.....doing this with a hacksaw.

I see this will add some nice storage under the seat for my 3700 series boxes and they will be close at hand.

In this pic I have all struts and floor braces cut and they are loosely positioned....a shot from the back of the Yak.

This pic is from the front of the yak showing loosely placed Struts and Floor braces. Next step is to position the front floor brace and rill holes in the brace to fit onto two floor studs already existing. Then assemble all the struts and position the back brace in the centre and drill through the brace and the floor of the Yak.

Then put a brace under the floor to reinforce the floor. Bolt the front and back and we are done.
