Not really, there was open water around the causeway earlier this week.

Is Scugog is any indication, it won’t be long until it thickens up. Scugog has an inch on it tonight. Was in town for my boys hockey so I checked it out. Was firm enough to step off the sand on the ice. Crackle, crackle though. Could be an early Christmas for us ice fishers.

checked chemong a ways below the causeway yesterday and the ice was about 3 inches just out from the shore. Tried to break the ice at shore but couldn't. Cold nights coming so maybe try it next Thursday or so.

Was just out checking ice this afternoon, north end of Chemong, and spudded half a dozen holes consistently at 4"-5".

Didn't plan on staying out so only carried my spud and a rod, but it felt good to finally drop a line even if it was only for an hour or so.
