Found the herring in 50fow. Hitting the small vibrato and the blood worm on top hook. Round 1 of ??? Until I’m satisfied! Barely a whiff of wind until noon. Fished 10-2. Found the herring after noon. Had two small lakers 12 and 17” released before noon. Herring are 15-17”.

Beautiful herring.

PS: I fished this past Saturday on a lake looking for herring (fished around 30 to 55 fow) but didn't find any, and instead landed some laker and bass:-)

Pickled is good but not easy to make right, hot smoked is good too.

Round two, slightly better average size. Another 9 fish today. Lost a whale of a laker about half way up after 5 min fight, heartbroken.
