I hit Lake Ontario on the Monday and it felt great to get on the water!
Hi Randaller, I enjoy watching your videos fishing for pike in lake O and also Musky in the Kawarthas! Good job!
Congrats on your season opener!
I am planning on fishing the Islands and Inner harbour area soon as well for pike.
I don't have a kayak but in addition to my aluminum fishing boat I have a small inflatable boat with electric motor and once in a while I enjoy fishing small local lakes or other lakes where there is no boat launch.
PS: I am getting a new kayak, one with pedal drive. A Native Watercraft Slayer Propel MAX 10 (with pedal drive). Should be delivered sometime next week (I hope:-)

Congrats I was thinking about the same yak last year. I was not sure if 10' would be long enough... You figured it will be I guess.
yes, I have been paddling 10-foot long kayak for around 8 years so I fine with it (plus I am relatively short, and very skinny, and as such I have to keep the yak's weight to minimum so I can handle it like car topping it by myself:-). This yak is 75 LB (without pedal drive and seat which is about weight limit that I can handle)

I have the Slayer Propel 13, for about five years now, the 12.5 is the same model but it seems it was shortened half a foot, I really love the 13 foot size and occasionally my son sits in the rear section for short fishing trips

He also enjoys Using the Kayak as a pool toy. In answer to the original question/poll I will still be icefishing here in Sudbury for at least 2 to 3 more weeks so I'm focusing on that at this time, likely May for the Kayak.

Anyone been out this season yet? I hit Whitby Harbor last Saturday. Weather was great (calm) and the temperature was nice also. I put the sun screen on my face or I would have been a lobster.
