It was 53 years ago when I was 14 that my Dad took me to a place south of Keswick that had small cabins.....it was called Windsor boats. He introduced me to an old codger he worked with......his name was Ernie and unfortunately I can't remember his last name. He showed us where to fish around the mouth of the Holland River.....man the pike were huge back then.....Ernie had fished Simcoe for years and would tell me all his old fish stories of huge Pike and Muskie......He was a fascinating old fella that really knew how to cuss....I only wish I had pics of those wonderful days in my life.

Here's a pic of my dad and I with a 27lb pike taken on cooks bay through the ice in 5' of water. Thea pics I have posted shows the evolution of a pike fisherman and how family fishing secrets gets passed down from great grandfather to grandfather, grandfather to son to grandson! I still use the same techniques and tricks to big pike through the ice...TS

Thank you Trout Slayer....you are right those memories are warm and locked in my heart as a foundation to my now obsession to fish.....both my Dad and Ernie are gone now but the memories they created for me were nothing short of awesome. Also thank you for sharing that 27 lbs gator with you and your dad....I see you can really relate to my childhood.
