I'm headed up to the Spanish area for a week next weekend. Has anyone been to the area lately, or know someone who has fished that area recently. I'm not looking for any secret spots, but was just wondering if anyone has had any success up there recently. Any information/assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Jaime. I'll keep you informed on what's happening up north. Who knows, I may be able to scare up a laker or something up there!!

We found great SM Bass, Pike and Walleye fishing in and around the islands out from the Spanish River mouth. We didn't feel the need to venture further.
The locals say the Walleye basically left the river by mid-June, so they will be in and around the islands, if they are a target fish for you.
Lots of rock shoals surrounded by deep water make for SMB fun.
Good Luck!

Cheers,

Very much appreciated. I got an email from the resort owner 2 days ago who said that guests have been catching large numbers of both largemouth and smallmouth bass (and good sizes too), plus pike and walleye lately. I'm so looking forward to getting there on Saturday afternoon. I can hardly wait to get back to my favorite rock shoal across from the resort!!
