Hey guys. A bit early to be asking but I like to be prepared. I have a cottage for a week at the end of august in honey harbour. I understand the bass and pike fishing is quite good but I’m wondering what the walleye fishing is like in that area. From what I’ve read it isn’t outstanding but is there decent walleye fishing to be had there? I’m ok with bass and pike if that’s all I get but would really like to get into some walleye(who doesn’t)

It’s a good thing you are ok with Bass and Pike. Pickerel are scarce..

Ya that’s kind of what I figured. All good I can catch walleye everyday at home. My oldest son is dying to catch a bunch of pike anyways.

You nailed it. In the Honey Harbour area there rae lots of Bass & Pike, and yes, Walleye are scarce.

I've been racing to suppossed "Walleye hot spots" in and around Honey Harbour for 2 years now.. ..nana.
I was told of 3 places where you couldn't miss catching Walleye. That should have been my first clue hitting my B.S. meter, as walleye aren't 'that predictable'...

I've fished the Kawarthas for 50+ yrs, so if I really want a decent chance of Walleye action, I'll load the boat up and head over.

That said, there is nothing at all wrong with Bass and Pike. Longshank is right, Pike are fantastic eating.
You might want to try 'smallies with light line & a fly-rod'. They get p_ssed off real quick....
