Two weeks ago I went fishing at a little spot on the shore near Collingwood. That's my secret little honey hole - never seen anyone else there. Anyways, two weekends ago the shore was getting absolutely pounded by a west wind. I've lost count of how many old timers have told me "west is best - east is least" when it comes to an active bite. Well, that was an understatement!
First cast: 10 lbs walleye. From SHORE! In the next few hours I netted two 8 lbs pike and two 5 lbs smallies (yes, they were out of season... fish stayed in the net and were released promptly). The bite was so hot I had to come back for an evening session where I landed several more pike including two over 10 lbs. I went back again last weekend with a strong East wind. Not a damn bite
Aside from me just bragging about a bonkers day of fishing; has anyone else ever caught walleye in the Collingwood area??
