Some decent fishing the other nights but sorry to hear about the skunk. Do you think the best fishing is over for now with the colder temps coming? I think we are suppose to get down to -4 to -6oC tonight depending on location.
Thank you Flukes, Tuesday and Wednesday were great, Thursday was just weird. Last night was cold. Oh it got cold last night, had to give up just after 2am. Too much ice on all three rods and reels. Do I think the best fishing is over. Nope, still good fishing for two more weeks. If we are really lucky, maybe until the end of the month. The Kawartha Lakes turned over early last year because of the colder weather. The lakes are cold right now, but not as cold as usual for this time of year. Went to Sturgeon last night and the fishing was good. I will post the details in a bit. Good luck if you are planning to fish some more this month. Stay safe. Thanks to my family for letting me eat, sleep, and fish this week. Not done yet, one more night to go.

Yep, it's getting much colder (esp. the overnight temps). I do remember many years back now, ice fishing on Chemong before bass season closed. It was a great day for crappie, bluegills and LM bass that day, first time that I was able to keep bass ice fishing on that lake. I agree. When we can fish, there is the family side that allows it to happen - after a few years, it's been great to be able to get out on the water again to get some fishing done even if only for a couple of hours at a time.

With the season coming to an end, they understand me being absent. Last five days was sleep, eat a late lunch, then fish all or most of the evening and night. It was cold again tonight, just got back. Going to put Friday and tonight on a new thread, while watching the hockey highlites.

My Grandfather made me keep rock bass as a kid when I'd spend 3 weeks with them in Fenlon. I'd come home with a bucket full everyday, and theyd eat em' all summer. Use to catch huge ones below the damn......thx for the memories I had forgotten:).

One of my first memories as a child was fishing at my grandfathers in New Brunswick. Either in the rivers for freshwater fish, or in his back yard which was right on Chaleur Bay. You could get almost anything in the bay. Digging mussels out of the sand and a large variety of saltwater fish right off the beach. Now you are the one bringing back the great memories, thank you.
