This is 100 percent my buddy Bruce’s idea, but it is too simple and effective not to post it online. One spring attached to the trigger bolt and the other side of the spring zip tied to the handle. Simple and effective and no collars or other stuff. Great idea Brucie!!

Why use a spring? Mine seems to be OK without one.

It works fine without a spring. The spring just makes start stop smoother and more controlled. It’s not required but the method my buddy came up with takes minutes to install and costs peanuts. There are a bunch of guys that have modified them with collars and set screws and it’s time consuming. This is just a quicker way to skin the cat for those interested.

Here's what I did---a bit crude, perhaps, but it seems to do the job. A few wraps of elec tape on the Clam trigger rod

So as to prevent the drill starting itself by accident and cutting/peeling off my fishfinder AGAIN (yes pic below is what happened to me, which destroyed my fishfinder before I did the CLAM plate mod:-)
