well I have an opportunity to be the 1st person to post in 2 months in the hunting section as well as my 1st coyote.
didn't take long yesterday, got to bush at legal shooting time, walked to back of bush to the field. Set up E caller came back into bush. Set up my chair, emptied my pack of coffee cup, and remote, looked up wind and way off to the left there something moving cross the field heading to bush across concession line. Get binoculars out to see what it is and it is a coyote. Get remote turned on and start a rabbit call, she keeps going, turn volume up and it stops and starts to back track, then heads my way at a trot. I ranged it at 300yds, but it was still trotting than a house was in the background, so had to wait for a shot. Once it passed the house it turned towards me and stopped at 84yds facing me. I took the shot, it never moved.
