Just landed this 18" walleye - grub with hook coming from side (I don't think that it matters).

Took Remembrance day off for some fishing on Rice Lake.

nice day in the sun. Wind is strong from the south west.

This fish surprised me- I seldom catch walleye in daytime! I'd just swung around to get out the wind and wasnt too focused on the fishing.

Color me jealous! I'm sitting here in the office like a sucker!

Tomorrow after work is probably my last chance to get out before the season closes. Not sure if I can get off work early enough to make it work though

Nice job! I ran up to peterborough for some fishing last night but came home smelling of skunk. Spent today winterizing the boat. I am wiped!

Started at one spot to see if the crappie were in, but didn't have any bites and there were a number of muskie fisherman around chucking big baits so i moved on. Came back a few hours later and most had left, but just before i got there a guy pulled out a 27" walleye. Most impressive part wss that this fish was caught upriver of lock 19, so it wasn't a rice lake walleye. Guy who caught it had been fishing for muskie but was pretty happy with his catch!

That's all for me today - a single walleye.

Saw many boats out on the lake - more than what I would see some summer evenings on the lake. All were fishing.

Leaves were gone for most of the trees so had good view of the inside of the islands!

Wind was rough - small white caps at times. While on electronic anchor my Minnkota prop would be lifted out of the water - and was deep as could set. It was the sort of wind that if didn't close bailer the instant the lure hit water the wind would strip the of reel out in seconds!

Wind suddenly stopped after 3.30. With in minutes the surface of water was like glass! And clear water!!!

Water temperature of 45° F.

I fished a few places - some new for me. First time I've been out on this lake so late in the season!
