A trip out into the North sea while in the UK.
We left out of Scarborough, UK.
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Scarborou...xbnBk?entry=ttuThe captain did say we were a month early and the tide was not right but I still went out for an afternoon. You can't always choose when you can go and it was only $50 pounds for 6 hours but 2 of those were travelling in and out. Sailing by a Castle was pretty cool too.
The tactic was the Captain positions the ship over a shipwreck, the horn sounds and we all drop our rigs 100+ft down, reel up a few feet and drift across (Basically drop down get snagged and re-rig over and over). A min later the horn sounds and you all real in.
Fishing that deep with 6-9oz weights and a giant rig tipped with squid was a work out.
I did have jet lag bad but after a few hours of ridding 6ft swells and holding on all the time I slept well that evening.
Not many fish were caught that afternoon but it is what it is and it helped scratch the itch.
P.S. We are very luck to live in Canada, it's just better!
